Default 300 wby load help

Would some of you experienced with loading for a 300 bee willing to share what you found a vanguard 2 liked? Just looking to see if there is a general consensus before I dig into it.

Thanks!

I've loaded for several 300's in MkV's and I've found them to be pretty easy to load for. Just pick your favorite bullet in +- 180 grains and your favorite powder and do some experimenting as every rifle is different anyway.

IMR 7828 - with a 180 grain pill seems to shoot tight for me - I have an accumark so it will likely be a little different.

I tried a 150 and 168 gr but the gun didn't like lighter bullets. Seemed that the heavier 180's would group half the size compared to the lighter bullets.

If I recall correctly .... We started powder loading from 78gr and went up to 82gr where but found the best to be right at about the listed max ( around 81 or so If I recall) but I'm just going by memory so double check me before doing anything .....

Every gun shoots a like a little different formula and I've had different recipes work better/worse in different guns shooting the same cartridge.

I use H4831SC, I think around 80-81gr with 180gr hornady interlock but don't quote me on that!

Sounds great, thanks for the help folks!

I'm going to give 7828 and 215 primers a shot first. Have some nice accubond 180 grain pills to try with it.

I load the 180 gr. Accubond with 85grains of I7828. It's a hot load so don't start from there. I have also had good luck with 83 grains of H4831 and the 180 grain Barnes TTSX. All sub-moa and shot out of a Vanguard Backcountry. The first load mentioned exceeds 3200 fps.

Im a fan of the ttsx and how well they have worked for friends is hard to argue for me. 180's at 3200 or more is smokin... would love to get to that.
