Default Rock Lake Help

I am planning to fish Rock lake next week. Any tips on techniques for lake trout. Also there is a river that feeds Rock lake at the other end. I would like to try fly fishing, and tips on flies to use. Thank you.

I have fished the river that leaves Rock Lake a few times... it can be a tough bite, but there are a lot of Rockies and Bull Trout in there.

The old standby royal coachman fly works well, and small spinners.

For lakers, try trolling wooly buggers or bead head leaches. Dry flies will do very well in the outlet stream for whites and atha-bows. The big bull trout will probably not be up near the lake.

I'd drag that 5 of diamonds 100' off the south shore, then circle around the back end weed bed for jacks before trolling back done the south shore.
