I don't believe there is much for shore fishing. Only the one place to access.

Unfortunately shore fishing around Edmonton sucks. It actually drove me to go for a few years without fishing. Finally I broke down and bought a canoe and it made all the difference.

My advice is to buy some sort of method to get on the water. You can get good deals on kijiji that you won't even lose any money on if you sell them in a year or two.

Shore fishing is amazing, Especially The NSR , The best place to guarantee a fish from shore !

The NSR and a handful of trout ponds are the only decent shore fishing around Edmonton. And if you want to catch and keep something to take home the trout ponds are about your only bet. Far from amazing imo...

For the record, I am spoiled. I used to have a couple lakes not to far from home in Sask that I could go and fish off shore and catch a supper worth of walleye or pike. That is what I consider good shore fishing.

Well, First off, I don't ever catch and keep fish, Any type any time, I feel if you can afford a rod and reel, then you can go buy some fish, However, I have nothing against people keeping fish, its there choice,

And yes the NSR is amazing, No where else in alberta can you catch a brown trout, A walleye, A pike and a Sturgeon all in one day , And all from SHORE, <--- That's amazing Shore fishing, But like I said I don't keep any fish, So that's why its better for me

Luckily for me I have a friend with a cottage on Jackfish. I fish off their dock and last 4 times I went out was hammering Wallies. Averaged 8-10 n hour and lost as many.
As for shore fishing from the docks, never had much luck.
