Default Say What!!! Shots fired!

Copied from a news link from my home town. What is wrong with the courts??

High Prairie RCMP investigate shots fired at members – Update – Charges Laid

High Prairie, Alta. – Following an investigation into an incident on May 31 that saw RCMP members being shot at, High Prairie RCMP have laid charges against three people.

Courtney Michelle Cunningham (29) of Edmonton is charged with nine criminal offences, including six firearm offences.

Archie Peter Papastesis (37) of Valleyview is charged with eight criminal charges, including six firearms / weapons offences.

Kenny Manichoose (32) of Valleyview is charged with nine criminal charges including six firearms / weapons offences, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property.

Judicial interim release hearings were held. All subjects were released from custody on conditions. Cunningham is scheduled to attend court on June 15. Both Papastesis and Manichoose have their next court appearance scheduled for July 13, in High Prairie Provincial Court.

Two guns were seized from the vehicle. One gun is a Mossberg Model 715T .22 calibre semi automatic rifle and the second is a replica handgun. Investigation into the origin of the guns continues.

What is the concern? I am sure that these fine upstanding citizens will show up for court.

Got to give them time to steal enough to pay their fines cause you know they aren't going to jail for these minor offenses. Pretty sure alternate sentencing will come into play shortly, may not even be fines to worry about.

The growing injustice in our country is literally sickening. How long until we stand up for justice?

Warden would be like a concierge at a 5-Star hotel "Your preferred room again sir? What shall we have the chef prepare for your poolside brunch?"

It's going to have to be soon before there is nothing left to stand up for.

That many charges, including shooting at the cops and these punks are back on the streets. SMH.

I wonder what the Mounties did to provoke those people?
If there was no semi automatic 22 it never would have happened.

The simple solution is to ban all guns from legal, licensed owners. Boom. No more crime.

It sounds just as stupid when I write it as when our Minister of Public Safety and our PM say it, over and over and over.

Jesus is just about tired of weeping.

Too bad judges here aren't elected. I don't know how some of them sleep at night.

Catch and release! It makes you wonder what crimes need to be committed to ensure an arrested person stays in jail until court.
