Wowzers, maybe you guys will win a series, looks like you'll probably be playing LA.

I’d say it is far from given. Maybe is a good choice of words though.

Monday 8:00 PM I will be tuned in to watch and cheer for our oilers 16 teams in the run, but in the end only 1 hoists the cup ......... who that will be nobody knows, it's the playoffs and anything can happen........... when it's all said and done fans from 15 of those teams will be disappointed again and join the fans from the 16 teams that are already disappointed.

Good luck to all those that still have a team in the fight to cheer for

LET'S GO OILERS

They put their top goalie into a game that didn't mean anything and allowed the opposition to hammer him. What a confidence builder! The decision to play Skinner probably came from the same clown who inked Nurse's $74M USD contract.

Not a chance. But coach basically acknowledged that starting Skinner and dressing their B squad against an opponent that had something to prove was probably not the right move. Corrected it after the first period.

Meh…… take the first 9 minutes out and it was a close game. Same amount of shots in the end, even without the top 5 players playing…….nothing game anyways……

The Bakersfield condors against the Colorado Avalanche in a nothing game the Oilers didn't put much into it, and it showed, it was a forgone conclusion.

There game plan was to end the game as healthy as they started it.

No matter how you look at it, it seems like it was a poor move. I'd say he's arguably the most important player on the team as I don't think the Oilers are going far with a Pickard/Campbell tandem. So do you rest your most important guy, no, you don't rest him, in fact you risk injury and throw him to the wolves with a 0.692 SA%, and a pull, the game before the playoffs start. From my seat, there wasn't a single positive to be gained starting Skinner in that game.

I have been saying all along their goaltending has been suspect regardless of their defence. They had four in the net before the first period was half over. Not a good confidence.booster for a decent backup goalie at best.

Not good for their mental health. Even if the guy sitting out watching, they must be thinking about their goalie problem, they have to score 6 goals a game to win , look at the Vegas series last year it was just one goal after another playing catch up .

A hiccup in the third. Some mistakes to sort out before the second round.

Oilers are the better team but game 2 will be the key. Will Oilers play hard. Will LA come on strong after a beating?

Fingers crossed but McDavid and Hyman were beasts.

Nurse even got a goal lol.

Wow now that was a shoot on net and get a bounce or two type game.

Then both goalies are not 1A calibre but can get a win if the guys in front score like 10 goals

Agree. Both goalies are decent backups but not on the same level as a Bobrovsky etc. In order for a team to go deep in the playoffs they are going to need better. Unfortunately I don’t see that happening with the Oiler’s. Kelly Hrudey who obviously knows more than I do said he thought Skinner could have been better.
