IMO there is no such thing as the "best" anything, but there are good and bad. FMJ's are a good arrow in my opinion. I only shoot FMJ's and ACC's, mostly because I'm a chicken. I've seen too many pictures of shattered arrows blasted through people's hands from trying to shoot a damaged carbon only arrow.

I like the FMJ's for hunting, they have good weight behind them and get good penetration, they seem to hold up a bit better than my ACC's when it comes to recovering arrows from animals. They aren't my first choice for shooting targets though, they heat up and melt in the target, making them harder to pull out than a carbon shaft.

Neil, I'm sure you're going to have no problems putting together some tight groups, get out there and do some shooting while the sun's shinning, they're calling for snow again on Wednesday I hear!

That 20/100yd setup seems to be popular this spring

I'm just glad I was able to get out when I did, the snow sure puts a damper on my shooting.

Yeah i never had any reason to try target shooting past 50 yards either.
Quite a challenge.
I have hit the target once out of 5 shots only one time. Im getting the distance, just having issues with the aim.
Im getting somewhat consistant at 80 yards. The jump between 80 and 100 yards seems like a quarter mile.

I think getting all five arrows in a 4'x4' target at 100yds would be quite a feat.

×2
I will have to remember to bring my phone next time I'm out(tomorrow).
I lost an arrow the other day. Went into the river..
I'm blaming it on the wind.

Edmnhunter
Yeah I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos lately for "inspiration".
I haven't seen that one though, thanks. Some good shooting.
Get out there buddy!!!

Do what I did, just adjust the windage on your sight. But don't do what I did, make sure you set it back before your next shooting session or you will do what I did and have to add to the "lost arrow" list.

Default 100 yard bow shot "competition".

I bought a new bow last Friday from Lawrence at Accurate, what a great guy to deal with! Got it home and set it up last weekend, tied the peep in and got the sight calibrated Wednesday night after I re-timed and tuned it up after the string and cables had settled. Finally got out today to shoot distance. Went to 100 yards and this is my second group. It's the best of the 5 groups I shot at 100 yards today.

I seemed to be getting a lot of horizontal spread, I think this bow needs some more weight on the stab, as well as a back bar to offset the sight weight. I also ordered some side plates, as I find the grip not the greatest for me. Hopefully I can get the horizontal solved!

Last arrow of the day was at 75. Dialed 75 into the sight and let her rip. I didn't see where it went, and was treated to this when I went to the butt! I'm l liking the kingpin too!

The bow is a nitrum turbo, and I think it will be a shooter! As you can see it is set up as a hunting rig. It's very fast too and extremely efficient. Very satisfied with it so far.

Great shooting norman!
Other than the one arrow to the right, thats a very very tight group!
Looks like you can hit a toonie at 75 yards.
Sharp looking new bow.

Thanks guys,

CNP - I'm Using a Scott little bitty. Have used these as long as I can remember. This has to be my 4th or 5th one, lol.

Hydro1- it doesn't seem to matter wether I shoot a gun or a bow, there is always 1 in the group that gets away a little on me and "blows it". I guess that's what keeps me trying, and at times crying! Lol.😿
