Cool Sylvan

Any body been out for whites or perch this year? Thinking of hitting the lake first thing and if its a bust hit gull on the way back. I'll post my results when I get back. Bought the new coleman deep fryer and want to give her a go.

I was out to Gull on Thursday. Not a lot of fishemen there (north end & west side) and after several hours I hadn't seen a fish. Took a drive around & checked with most everybody I saw. One fellow had one small perch. No whites, pike or burbot. Said to heck with it & drove over to Sylvan. Sort of slow there too but caught six whites in about 2 1/2 hours. Not as large of fish as at Gull but still, it was a lot better than being skunked. Saw several walleye & two pike. Will probably try there again tomorrow morning. I was fishing up at the northwest end of the lake.......in the bay. Not sure how it was elsewhere on the lake as I didn't move around. Fished in about 6 feet of water. I think I did better than most around me, but am not real sure about that. My guess is that Gull will still be VERY slow, but I could be wrong.

How much snow is there on the ice. What to try Sylvan tomorrow but only have a 2 wheel drive. I'm guessing I;ll be OK if I stay on one of the trails.

Gull was pretty productive today my friend and I caught about 12 perch kept 8. Had a couple pike on the line but lost them, seen a couple burbot. Didn't see any whites fish. Earlier in the week was pretty good for whities. It was slow going but the quality makes up for it.
