Buddy from work was telling me they can't keep the Jack off the hook.

I've never heard of anyone actually fishing it before though...

The Pike fishing is usually good there. Havent been this year but have the past couple years.

The popular island is off the mouth of the lobstick river. Access is RR110. That being said nice pike can be caught near the other islands as well. I have fished another island just to the west of the campground at chip lake and have done really well.

Don't try drilling a hole less than 100 yards from shore. Your likely to auger up 10lbs of loon crap. Shallow lake but good pike fishing.

The pike fishing is always really steady there, do not expect to catch giants thiough, most of them don't get to 24 inches, there is always the odd one that is a beauty though.

Me and 2 buddies were out about a week ago, there was lots of ice. We caught about 80 jack between the 3 of us, biggest was about 4 lbs but most were hammer handles. We had fun, bring lots of minnows. There was also about 50 trucks out on the ice. looked like pretty much everyone was catching and a few guys were catching some burbott but we didn't catch any. The bite was slower throughout the day but really picked up in the later afternoon around 3pm. We drove in off of RR 110.

Good Luck!
