Default Head on crash tanker truck and sports car in front of my farm

Not looking good CTV news lists 2 or 3 passengers in life threatening condition.
I looked out window while talking to gunsmith this morning only to see tanker drive into ditch across the street then noticed a small car with steam or smoke coming out of it to the north.
My son took some pictures

Default Last time

I saw Stars Air Ambulance it was parked in exactly the same place 4 years ago when another crash occured. Sooner or later they are going to realize this road needs to be twinned with all the traffic from the new overpass. I am not sure what happened here but very often on a narrow road with deep ditches people take chances passing the many slower moving transport trucks when it is not safe to do so. Most of the time they get away with it but about every 4th year this happens.

Darwins law is in full effect there apparently. Twinning the road 'may' just compound the problem. Idiots need to learn how to drive.

I am not saying anyone involved in this instance was an idiot, could have been a deer, blowout, cat, vehicle problem, do not know, was not there, but I would put real money on undue care or stupidity being a factor. Bright day, dry roads.....

I hope everyone survives

Reminds me of that old saying, there are old pilots and bold pilots, but no old, bold pilots. Goes for driving, as well.

Default CTV follow up story

My son just saw a follow up story on CTV that speculates the sportscar was trying to pass another north bound vehicle when it collided with the south bound tanker.

I don't know the area but from your pictures it looks to me that the accident happened on a straight stretch of road in perfect weather. IF I'm correct then it's not a road problem, it's a driver inattention or driver idiocy problem. It would be different if it were a blind corner, a road intersecting on a hill with poor visibility, etc. Then some road improvements would make sense.
