Default Great day of perch fishing!

Finally got out ice fishing for the first time this season. Even got to try out my brand new 4 man pop up and mr buddy portable heater, it had us fishing in our t-shirts in no time. It was quite windy when we arrived, my new tent and I almost went for a ride across the lake! Seemed to die down as the day went on. It was the first time perch fishing for all 3 of us. My friend, my 4 year old daughter and myself had a great day of fishing. I would guess we landed about 20 in the four hours we were out, came home with 13. Only ever fished for rainbows. Seemed somewhat picky, probably a little more difficult when you're not even sure what you should be trying. I bet the one hook landed 14 alone and of course I only had one of them so my daughter ended up with that one. =P Her having fun and enjoying her is #1 and she had an absolute blast! Tried the identical hook in different colors and different hooks in the same colors... they just weren't intrested. Tried a few random things and just didn't have nearly the luck that one did. No monsters by any means but they made for some decent eating when we got home! Thanks nakamun, we enjoyes ourselves.

Stay safe!

you could try using a half or even a whole gulp maggot on your lure, I find it can make a huge difference, real maggots are good, but the gulp ones will usually last a bunch of fish.
