Default Paint

I am not sure how you can mimic the Cabelas camo, but, with a little creativity snow camoing a rifle is easy... with a little work

I use a reuseable wrap on my stainless rifles to reduce glare, it isn't really sticky like a tape, but it sticks to itself. It turned out to have some other benefits as well. I found some at Alberta Tactical Rifle, but I believe I saw some in the bow-hunting aisles at Wholesale Sports as well. Its called Camo Form, made by a company called McNett. Its pretty much a camo'd tensor bandage with a tacky (read slightly sticky) texture. It increases your grip anywhere you apply it, as its got a fabric texture impregnated with latex, a side benefit is that it protects the finish of your firearm. Considering it has a few colors and camo patterns available, you're not tied to what finish you have on your rifle(s). Just mummy up your weapon and head out. I have a roll of both digital desert and snow pattern. It can be a bit of a challenge finding a good way to wrap your rifle, but I didn't get too crazy with it, just wrapping my barrel and forend ahead of the action.

I like it as you can use it on anything you have, the stuff is reuseable, and it the only way it will affect resale of a firearm is by increasing it (less scratches, no permanent paint job that may not appeal to many)

Tape is a very good way to go.

Be it plain old white hockey tape, or specific gun/bow tape (hockey tape will need to have the glue removed after)

Just remember to leave the stock independant from the barrel and action.(do not tape the barrel and stock together)

Good luck
