Default Great opening day at Pigeon

Had one of the best days fishing ive ever had this Tuesday. The weather was fantastic and the water was so calm.We were the first to launch a boat at the P.P and darn near had the whole lake to ourselves. The walleye bite was incredible. We landed over a hundred fish between three of us.We found a spot in 6 fow where we caught over 60 fish casting rapalas. It was so cool watching the fish chase your hook. What was weird though was after you hooked onto a walleye there was at least 3-4 fish follow right beside the caught fish trying to bite at what they thought he was feeding on.Never seen that before. We also witnessed schools of 30-40 fish pass by every 45 minutes. We were out there for 8 hrs and didnt want to leave. We landed all size ranges but the most we caught were A and B.We also landed about 15 northerns. Not likely to ever accomplish that again but it will remembered by us three for a long time.Good luck to all this season and I hope you have just as much fun as we had!

Sounds like an excellent day!

The following fish happens to me when you are getting them pre-spawn close to the spawn. Pretty cool when you get 3 plus. We netted an extra fish like that once a few years ago by fluke!

I used to fish Pigeon a lot a few years back. It is an excellent lake with a lot structure, shoreline and mid lake. Any 100 fish days are great ones especially when they are on the opener!

I'll be out there Saturday morning, can't wait. Kid loves fishing, but sure doesn't like when I chuck him in the truck at 5 am. Nothing better than a nap in the old hammock with a cold beer after.

Pigeon can be a fun lake especially when you find a big school like that.
