Default Fishing around Wainwright

Going to be in the Wainwright area at the end of the month and will have a bunch of time to kill. Just wondering where a good spot to fish is around Wainwright. Either shore fishing or from the canoe. Any advise is appreciated. Never been in the area before.

All of the above are descent options. You won't catch any monsters but arm lake is good for small pike....clear has lots of walleye and 50-70cm pike (although it's tough to fish from shore). Schuster has brookies and the army base has a trout pond.
The battle river opens June 1 and if you spend the time walking shore line you can find some great holes....but it's really high and moving right now....might still be a few weeks until it calms down.
There is a good trout pond in Irma as well (deep and aerated)....and capt ayre lake by consort has good trout stocking.

You can fish right on base in the Battle River, there's some decent sized pike and walleye. You register at Range Control and they'll tell you which area you can go to. I personally think fishing at the purple route bridge is the best spot. That's where I had the most success anyway.
