Default Barrier Lake, off Kananaskis Trail

Has anyone ever fished/camped at Barrier Lake? is it allowed, or does it need a permit? I want to go camping, try the lake out...little rivers in and out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!.... and tips are always welcome

I don't think there is any place you can camp there, and yes, you would need to have your regular Alberta Fishing License do to that. It's not known as a very good fishery though, there are much better places to fish in K-Country.

Default Barrier Lake off Kananaskis trail

We fish Barrier lake a # times every year and often do quiet well. I normally drag a gang troll with a wedding band and use worms or power bait. There is a tent spot on the opposite side of the lake about 1/2 way up the lake. We tried to launch there a couple of weeks ago but the lake level was way below the launch and the launch was closed anyway.
