Default Overnight hike for newbies advive wanted

Me and my girlfriend are wanting to do an overnight hike one weekend in July. We are not new to camping or the outdoors but we are new backpacking. We kind of wanted to go some where new and more secluded (away from the crowds). We were thinking somewhere around Nordegg but open to any other suggestions. Any advice, guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Allstones Lake is nice and a good 1 night hike, but if you do it over a weekend, you'll likely get a lot of company. There are a lot of nice secluded options in that area, but would be quite ambitious for a 1 nighter. Hope that helps. I have some nice picks of allstones if your interested. The hike is only about 5K round trip I believe, but the elevation gain is pretty big so it makes it challenging.

If you want any tips just pm me, might be able to give you some pointers that will help you out. Another hike in that area would be Glacier Lake, the trail head is right at Sask. River crossing and is only 8 kms. each way with way less elevation gain. Have fun.

In case you don't have this link, here is a great trail resource page for Alberta hikes.
