Default Have you ever seen an Albino duck

Today, we were out field hutning ducks and a group of mallards are making a swing. We only needed one more mallard to make our limit. I saw this white bird and thinking it was a snow I let it pass over. Just as it passes over my ground blind I look up and realize it was a albino duck. Luckily enough a friend was shooting digital pictures of it. We're going back tomorrow to the same location and are going to try and get him. If all goes well he'll be in my freezer tomorrow night.

I will post some pictures of the duck tomorrow evening as soon as I get them off my friends digital camer.

They do occur. A friend of mine got one hunting with his dad years ago (mallard). They did the same thing you did the first time but did get in after a few hunts in the same spot. Cool looking bird. Good luck to you.

My grandfather shot an albino cross in the mid seventies, near Lloyd.

Haven't seen an albino Mallard. But duck numbers surely would dictate that they are out there. Did watch an albino magpie up near 2 Hills several years ago though.
