Cool pic... what a mess of birds. Are you heading out that way for Whitetails this year Sheephunter?

I don't think so Chet....I've got a pretty prime elk draw close to home so I'll spend my time on that I think. I still need a big elk for the wall! I love hunting those big mountain bulls in November.

Sounds like fun. Those prime Elk tags take too long to draw to let other hunts interfere with them. Mountain Bull down usually means sore back or rodeo. Are you taking horses? Hopefully you fill that space on the wall.

No, this is strictly a backpack hunt but hopefully there will be enough snow on the ground to use sleighs to pull the meat out...if not, I can get a game cart most of the way in.

Birds birds and more birds. I have tried to explain to many people what it looks like and sounds like when you get 10,000 birds around you. That is a good example of what real goose hunting like.

LOL...I think there's a gas station on the corner of every little town in Saskatchewan. I'm not sure where it was but I suspect Kindersley or Rosetown.

I've seen a few fields / pongs littered like that ... quite the site.

Ya, I've hunted that area plus Last Mountain Lake many times and those types of flocks are almost more the rule than the exception. Having a huge flock of snows windmill in on you is one of the most incredible and noisy experiences you will ever have.
