Default First time Alberta Hunter

Good day
I moved to Alberta 5 years ago and am now getting back into Hunting after many years of not. I have my WIN already but what do I need now in order to get tags.
I have my Ontario Outdoors Card if that means anything but it expired back in 2000.
Thank you for your help

Check out the top sticky here in the hunting categorie on the online hunter education.

I believe all first time non guided hunters need this certification.

if you have proof of being licenced in another province or taking their hunter training I believe all you need to do is apply on the draws with your win card. General tags you should just be able to buy the tag with your win card.

Proof of a previous hunter ed course is actually quite easy if you took the course in ON. You can contact the MNR in Peterborough at 705-755-2119. They have a good chunk of the results kept on file and will issue you a letter as proof if required.

Grab the old regulations and the 2011 draw booklet is out and online.

Read to your hearts content.

The good folks at the license issuer seldom ask for proof... when you got your WIN, did you answer YES for the question that asked if you had done a hunter safety course in Albert or elsewhere? If so, you are good to go. If not your WIN may not allow you to buy tags, and you will have to get that changed.
