Default Any Turkies Down??!!

All I see are bears!

Took my daughter to Cranbrook and did a day of turkey hunting, more scouting than anything else.

We drove right up to (as in 15 yards) an ok sized blackbear, we scared him up a tree and got a good look at him.

Way too windy to do any calling, but we tried. Only got close to two hens. No Toms.

Should have better luck next year.

Anyone else whack a bird?

I got a jake down near Creston. It was my first turkey - and I'm hooked! But next year I'm holding out for a big tom.

I'd love to chase Merriam's. Here are two birds I got. One is from Canada and the other is from the USA. I almost flew down to Kansas to hunt rio's but I've got some bigger stuff coming will wait another year.
