greg, same as last time fricking bear just clawed the plastic out covering the sensor. the board looks ok and still lights up. do you have any of the covers?
the sow ****ed around there for over two weeks before the batteries went dead and she ripped the piece out.
i will post pics of the bear, take care, rob

I've got some summer trail cam moose pics with the same thing on their hind end. And I've seen it on other trail cam pics of moose on this site. I remember there was a discussion about it on here about some of T-Bark's pics last year. Was there any concensus on what was causing it?

Nice pics Katts. I'd love to have a treestand along that fenceline!

They are moose fly bites. They started showing up in Alberta a few years ago. I wrote a piece about them in 2006. Here is the link to the story if you want to read a bit about moose flies.

Wasn't there a write up about those sores in the (ABoutdoorsmen) magazine.....or perhaps it was a thread I read on here......If my memory serves me, aren't they sores caused by a fly that bites at the hind legs of the moose???? Maybe this will trigger someone else's memory.....

Looks like Rob beat me to it.......Thanks Rob.....

Default pics?

the fence is actually 7 strands of high tensile 5.5 feet high. bison fence!! the moose can clear it sometimes just clipping the hind legs on the way over.
glad you guys enjoyed them. take care, rob

any estimates on the bigger buck? not the greatest pic but he should be worth an arrow

I think the first buck and the last one are the same...There is a small black spot on the neck just to the right of the neck patch that seems to be in the same spot on both these deer...

Default good spot

very busy place. like the buffalo fence. laughed when i read of the moose jumping it. i can see that happening they are deceptively agile. that last buck looked really decent and the others were as well. just some more decent than others right?? nasty little bug there on the last cow, haven't seen much of it but will be on the lookout for it in my part of the world.

Just call ahead Rob,
If you can make it over to the house,
That sensor lens is a quick easy fix.
