Default McGregor Lake - Woman Found Dead (Boating Accident)

http://globalnews.ca/news/2144710/wo...mcgregor-lake/

Just thought I would raise some awareness on here to see if anyone has any information regarding this tragic accident (in case you haven't heard already).

Be careful and please practice safe boating etiquette and use proper protection.

If the wind blows from either the north or south, that lake can be really ugly.

Sad story.

Surprise.... Surprise.
No life jacket!!! These senseless things keep happening, maybe someday people other that the families that die from these unnecessary accidents will also learn that a life jacket should be worn not just on a boat or within reach. Bet they had them onboard as well.
Senseless, stupid tragedy.

Best to wait for the facts instead of betting on what may have happened.

We could all be dressed in full hockey equipment when we drive and it would save a thousand X as many lives so should we do that too?

You may have spoken too soon, there are folks out there advocating helmets and 'Fireproof Protective Driving Suits' become legislated into law, especially for children.

The likelihood of falling from a small boat is very high. Wearing a $25 jacket should be a no Brainer.

Well the facts are in and they aren't good.

This is from Global News
Quote:
The body of a woman in her 30s was located near the shore of the lake that afternoon. Officers said she wasn’t wearing a life jacket, and that none were found on the boat.

Friends have identified the woman as Kamber Lindenbach, a personal trainer originally from Golden, B.C., who had been living in Calgary for a number of years.

RCMP spent Sunday night and all of Monday looking searching for her fiancé, 37-year-old Wayne Stertz. The search was eventually called off by RCMP who said they had combed the entire area without success.

The pair were set to be married within the next month.
