No loading today, great day to be at ther range though- until I got there!
Oh well, session was good, just couldn't see through the spotter for snow to figure out what I was doing on the steel with the irons at 500, so just kept banging it , then went down to check afterwards.

I ordered some more gas-checks for my 30-30 and 308 casts then I found my box of 1000 Hornady’s.

Prepped some 6.5 PRC brass, and loaded some 303 British for a ladder test.

Thinking for a reason not to pretty my 7mm-08 brass. Bit lazy today.

I ended up getting off my azz, and doing the prep on 143 cases on the 7mm-08.
Primers in 50, and a new load development ready for the range.

-18* is just not the range day I wanted to have, so I await for the warmer stuff.

I have been chronograph testing loads for my old 7 STW, which has been languishing in the safe for about 15 years. Today I trimmed all my fired brass, cleaned primer pockets, and primed 50 cases. I had some very encouraging results last week with 140's and IMR 7828, will do some accuracy testing when it warms a bit. These things are fast!

I have the V4 Autotrickler here now, need to assemble that and try it out, also need to put a B&C stock on a Tikka T3X. At the moment though, I have no ammo that needs to be loaded, have 5 or 6 guns that need to have some rounds put thru them though, and some weather that is suitable for it. Only outstanding order I have coming still, are some RWS Evo bullets for the 30R, due in April or so.

You should get used to the V4 by throwing some charges. You need to figure out flow rates and a good transition point between tubes. Don’t set that transition point below about 1.7gr. (My experience.)

If this is your first AutoTrckler, you will be impressed. I still use my V3 for fine ball powders. (Although I have tried those in the V4.) Extruded powders work really well in the V4.

Have fun with it. Congrats!

Default reloading room

Loaded up 20 test loads for my new (to me) .308. Havent shot a .308 win for quite a number of years, since getting "magnumitis" many years back. Still prefer bigger cartridges, with heavy for caliber bullets, but should make a nice soft-shooting deer rifle.

Loaded up a bunch of Kynoch brass now that Catnthehat was kind enough to supply me with some berdan primers! My old side by side hammer gun in
450 3 1/4" will have lots more fodder to get ready for spring bear! I also have an old Field's Patent falling block in the same caliber that I am trying to get sighted in. Just need the weather to cooperate and I am ready for the range.

Busy chambering an empty round into some of my rifles and sliding the bore scope in from the muzzle to check stuff like Distince from the case mouth to the actual leade , some very interesting discoveries for sure!

If I dont like it for deer, it will make a decent gopher gunShould leave less of a divet than the rigby at least.
I even bought a 7-08 this winter. Havent shot anything with it yet, but I fell in love with the wood. Nothing sells a gun to me harder than a good piece of marbled walnut!

I ran a new loader through the basics, from setting up his dies, to determining the jump to the lands. Of the two new people I am mentoring, I have high hopes for one, the other one is not catching on as quick.

Magnum brass prep day. The .338LM case gets F.L. sized and trimmed today.

Shoulder gets bumped .0005” from fire formed. Neck tension with the bushing is .002”. And trim length……yeah, I had forgotten how much I hate trimming. It’s in spec, that’s all I’ll say.

This gets the cases ready for powder (after priming, of course).
