Damn. We are about the same age, and lately I've heard of too many good men our age who have been cut short. I appreciate that you would post that for us here, and your reason for doing so is clear, and true. As you say, AO is, for all its quirks and characters, an extended family. I also have made many excellent and true friends here.

Thank you for being a part of the family here as well. Much respect and admiration for you to take the time to let us know what you are facing. As many have said, if in any way we can help during this time, please don't hesitate to let us know, publicly or privately.

I know that the offers of help are all sincerely made. Don't hesitate to reach out or ask.

TC

So sorry to hear that man! I lost a childhood friend just two months ago to lung cancer… By the time they found it it was too late.
I can’t even imagine how you feel now. My prayers are with you man. I hope you have no pain…

Not sure of what so say beyond I very much respect you for the courage it takes to post what you have. You & your Family will be front and center in my thoughts & prayers.

I have not mentioned this online, and only choose to do so now due to your courage.
I was recently diagnosed with Colon Cancer. I am 63. It is likely they can deal with it, but they have to take me off the blood thinners for a spell to do so. That comes with an inherent risk of an aneurysm or a stroke. Not great, but maybe workable... Not trying to make this about me at all. Simply I can feel some of what you must be going through...

Stay as strong as you are able for as long as you can. If possible take the time to be with Friends & Family as much as you can.

Sadly,
Matt

Not an easy post for you to make, but none-the-less, you made it! Thanks so much for thinking of us, for your generosity in providing your insight, and for reminding us to cherish every day we have.

That’s a tough one, the toughest really, don’t miss a moment with your loved ones or your favorites places & activities (however able)

About two years back my brother in law had a similar diagnosis and they went on a bit of a ‘farewell tour’ road trip holiday.

Like Dick284 I really don't know what to stay, I'm choked up and my eyes are tearing. I don't know you but we are a family here of Outdoorsman, I know you're playing over in your mind past outdoor trips with your family and wishing they could continue. I've had a recent family loss and as I head out on a bear hunt my thoughts are with those that wish they could do that just one more time. This is a wake up call for all of us, be bitch and bicker here over the smallest little things at times, lets all take a step back and reflect on the Privilege we take for granted and the ability to still be able to go outdoors!
God Speed Sir!

Hang on Teledogs. Hopes and prayers are with you. Don't give in until you've nothing more to give. Keep up the good fight as long as you can.

Teledogs - I'm sorry to hear about your prognosis. I'm sure it's frustrating to have known something was wrong and not getting a proper diagnosis until now.

My grandpa died from prostate cancer and my dad and uncle both died from prostate cancer in October of last year so I know what I have coming in a few years. I just turned 50 and I have certainly spent many hours thinking about my own mortality since dad passed.

If there is anything a rancher from Leslieville can do to make things a little better for you, send me a PM.

Not a good thing to hear about, I really felt upset for you when I read this.

The way I look at it when I leave this earth ,I will have easier access to look over the ones I love and finally see the ones I missed so much on the other side who watch over me.

My prayers go out to you in large numbers and to your loving family.

GOD BLESS and PM if you ever feel like shooting the breeze.

All the best
JD

Default You do have many friends

You are not alone in this. We are all on the same journey, and no one knows how long it will take. When you are feeding better on
One suggestion I have is to put your affairs in order, make peace with your family and God. I hope that it will make you feel better. I’m glad that you reached out to us. God bless.
