Smile Got my Tyee

Hey guys, here are a few pics of my Tyee that I got on weekend. He weighed in at 40lbs. Awesome fishing trip, gonna be hard to go back to resevoir walleye fishing for a while. Lots of big Chinook's & Coho's, got some good chickens & nice bottom fish. Took my Dad, it was a trip that I will remeber forever.

Was that out of Port Hardy ?? The buildings in the back look like the lighthouse at Christie Pass.

Default Friendly Cove, Nootka Sound??

I think this is Friendly Cove, also known as Nootka Sound, out of Gold River, based upon the mountain across the sound at Burdwood Cove.

Nice Fish! I have seen a lot of nice ones come out of there I used to work around the corner at the evil fish farm. There is a local who fishes there all the time and he would not keep anything under 25 pounds. His top lure was a brown hootchie he called peanut butter. His top fish was 63 pounds of the "wall" and ever years he caught several in the 40's
Great spot for coho there also. Caught my personnal best coho there which was 25 pounds. Late august is crazy for big coho there.

Once again congrats just jealous now being stuck out in alberta missing the big ones.

That is a smokin' fish....and not to bust your bubble, but a true member of the TYEE Club has taken a Chinook over 30 lbs. while operating a rowboat and only by himself....no help. I know that sounds rediculous, but that's how a real Tyee is determined.

Ah shucks, Oh well. Gee that would be a blast in a rowboat, catching a 30lbs+ by yourself, and getting it in the boat.

Great lookin fish S.A.H congrats on the fish and thx for the pics really well done.

Once again I will explain it..

A "TYEE" is "ANY" Chinook salmon over 30lbs.

To be a member of the exclusive "TYEE CLUB",, yes it has restrictions and a whole wack of rules, and along with it said pin but once again any Chinook over 30lbs is a Tyee regardless of where and or how it is caught as long as its caught legally of course.

So S.A.H. congrats on your beautiful Tyee.
