A few guys I shoot with have the Viper and I'd say its one of the best bows I've shot. I probably will never get one cause the shops I've seen them in are asking anywhere from around $900 to over a grand for them and there are bows I think are ALMOST as nice for quite a bit less money. In short I think they are great but overpriced.

With the technology that has gone in to draw length adjustment with alot of the new bows i would never buy a bow anymore that required a module to change draw length.
Just my opinion. Makes resale a whole lot easier as well as tweaking your draw length to make it perfect for you.

Well that would mean you got rid of your ross. I can't or don't want to shoot an asses bow anymore. U should come fishing one day and bring that bow so I can have a look at it.

I dont ever recall any of the recent apa bow dual cams requireing a mod specific draw length but i could be wrong.

however all single cams are drawlength ajustable this i know for a fact.. seeing as i own one...

I stand corrected! The single cam bows are adjustable now or maybe last year. Anything with dual cams requires modules.

I have shot APA bows for the last 4 years. They are a very good bow and they are Canadian made so that makes it that much sweeter.

They are priced like any of the other top end bows out there. I have a XL36 that should be here when I get back from my Wolf hunt this week. It is Carbon fiber color and should be a real sweet bow to compete with and hunt with

all the Single Cam ones are adjustable right on the Cam the Dual Cam you need a Mod to change out individual draw lengths

Exactly, they are a top of the line bow with a top of the line price. If I was going to buy a top of the line bow it would be an APA. My point is that there is now alot of midrange equipment that performs like top of the line equipment. If your a cheap bugger like me its hard to spend APA prices when I can get similar performance for significantly less. But ya, awesome bows go get one.

Thanks for the info guy. I shoot a original Ross which is a great bow. I m ready for a new one and was looking at hoyt, mathew, and apa. I like the idea of shooting a Canadian Made Bow. All in the same price range so I think I will order a APA.

I shot PSE for years and then, when in the market for a new bow a couple of years back I tried the APA at the Calgary Archery Centre. I walked out of there with a BOA. It is fast and super quiet and has all kinds of neat little features like the "limb hooks" which allows you to hang the bow from a tree limb or the like. Simple but nice! I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one.

They sure look like sexy bows. Supporting a Canadian manufacturer is a nice bonus to buying one. I shoot a PSE now that's only a couple years old but for my next bow it'll be an APA or a Hoyt.

The limb hooks, carrying handle, etc are very nice touches. They show a lot of thought went into the design.

Just checking them out again online after this thread. they are cool bows, never shot one but love the fang idea.. the multiposition roller guide looks a little archaic though. how does it lock down? set screws on carbon? even set screws on steel sounds scary.. that thing could come loose from the riser or from the slide and end up stuck in your head. Is it just me or does that look dangerous? click http://www.apaarchery.com/apa-exclus...efficiencylimb

Was at CAC last night and found out the owner shoots an APA bow. I looked around at what they had there and it didn't look like they have any of this year's models. Lots of '09 and '10 bows, many of them look like they may have been demo bows with little chips and dings on them. Not a huge deal, especially if you catch a deal on a bow, but I wonder if they aren't bringing new stock in because they aren't selling much? I guess the Basspro must have killed the mid to low end bow market for the smaller businesses.

Default APA Bows

the new 2011 APA bows aren't in at the Calgary Archery Centre yet but they should be in soon, however they do have great deals on the previous models all of which will do whatever you need.
As for myself I shoot 2 APA's the X1 for hunting and the X2 for target/3d I couldn't imagine shooting anything else

I look forward to seeing them. The ones they have now aren't in the camo patterns, just the tan and black colors. Probably doesn't make a bit of difference, but it's what I like.

Anyone shot the compact bow from APA? I like my PSE Brute because it's so compact. I'm sure I lose penetration and speed for using a compact but for lugging through the bush etc it can't be beat.

the black and tan is the new "Buckskin Stealth" cammo patern but you can still order any of their bows in their other cammo paterns or target colours.I am taking a Pit Viper for a test ride for the next little while will let you know how it shoots.

Im on my second APA. had the black mamba mx2 then last year replaced it with a mamba 6.5, love it,and im thinking on picking up a viper at CAC (last yrs$799)i also have a mathews and two pses but gotta love the APA. Dont think you go wrong by going with APA and as far as buying a cheap, less expensive bow, i dont think youll come close in terms of quality and Im cheap as the next guy

I have been tossing around the idea of getting a new APA as well and would probably go with the Viper V7 or Mamba M7. I like the specs on both, but have only shot Mathews single cam before so I dont know which way to go.

Do the single cams offer a nice solid wall? And what do you think of thier own brand of arrow rests.

I was thinking about this model possibly this year for a new toy

http://www.apaarchery.com/bows-viper-v7.html

but not in that color as shown Although I do see how that color would work in many applications of cover.. hmmmmm

Just a question... A bow so extreme like the King Cobra with "up to " 362 fps and sporting a 5 1/16" brace height... is more suited to someone who shoots a lot and has skinny forearms.. Correct?

At first I really didn't care for that color either but after visualizing it against typical Alberta back grounds it could really work here.

Default Apa

I was at CAC a few weeks ago and I was really eyeballing the APA's. The guy behind the counter(assuming he was the owner) said that he had one that I could shoot. I AM SOLD!!! I am not sure which bow I want to get tho. I will have to shoot them all I guess As for the new coloring, I love it.
