but not in that color as shown Although I do see how that color would work in many applications of cover.. hmmmmm

The single cams have a very solid wall as do the Dual cam models. I use the Safari twister on my hunting bow and it is good. That color is designed to be the color of a muledeer skin, it will blend in well anywhere you want to hunt.

Just a question... A bow so extreme like the King Cobra with "up to " 362 fps and sporting a 5 1/16" brace height... is more suited to someone who shoots a lot and has skinny forearms.. Correct?
The King Cobra is not for everyone, yeah it is fast but if you do not have perfect form everytime the bow will shoot you instead of you shooting the bow. The Short draw length guys will like it more than the long draw guys. This is not a bow for beginner or average shooters you should be on the top of your game if you want to shoot this one. You need to put in your time shooting this bow to get good with it, I have seen more of them come back and people complain they could not control the cobra, they said"to much bow for them"

Hope this helps

Default probably craig

it was probably Craig hes a APA factory shooter and works at CAC everyday i think, except weds. Also I think that APA will custom make any bow to your specs if you dont like something about the factory model. take a look at craigs targety bow next time your in its a custom he wanted a longer bow with bigger brace then was offered, just another bonus of buying from smaller company I guess

But for a price APA will build you what you want if they have the time and parts to build it for you

Not a bad influence but welcome to the club anyway, that python shoot good for you once you got it sighted in?

Didn't quite get it sighted in, only roughly sighted. Basically three inches left and a couple high. It is incredibly consistent for shot placement. It's a longer bow so it is so forgiving. Despite having only shot it a dozen times or so I was putting my darts within 1/2-3/4" of each other. Just close enough to make me worried about my fletching haha

I too am in the market for a new bow, I have been looking at the APA King Cobra. I was talking to one of the guys who work at the Calgary Archery Center and they think that I will not be able to handle this bow and that I should go with the APA M7 as it is more forgiving,Now I am stuck as to what I should get, any suggestions? I should also say i am a 27" draw and will probably set it at 60lb draw

Default Cac

you found an old thread here but whatever.the guys at CAC are not on commissions so if they give advise its usually in your best interest to listen to it but its your bow in the end so get something that you like. i think they had a 60lb pit viper on sale there. my son just picked up a pitviper to add to his collection the other day i was going to get one but settled on the mamba due to having elf arms like yourself

They are both good depends on which one will fit you the best and what one you like the feel of

I myself would go with the M7 because of the longer brace height but I have shot them both and like the feel of the M7 better than the pit viper

like trav says which ever fits you better. I wanted the pit viper because of the fully adjustable draw and love the single cam . however i also wanted speed and with only 28" i decided to go mamba and my son went with pit viper @30.5 draw. but really its what YOU like the most and fits YOU the best

I shoot a Viper V7, i will never shoot anything but an APA. i used to be a die hard Matthews fan. I have owned many bows all the way down to Bear, PSE, Hoyt, Prairie Fire. You will never know how they shoot until you try one. Bare in mind there are lots of bows that are considerably cheaper. That being said you get what you pay for.

Wow blast from the past on this thread The only bitch I've had about my APA has been the weight. The length makes it a little tougher to maneuver around a tree stand but I knew that going in. Didn't factor in how much the bow actually weights.

Weight? I just ordered an M8 (actually ordered before Xmas). Sort of thought they were a light bow relative to my Hoyt CRX35.

Now if they would just ship it already......

Mine is a big long one. The model was called the "Python" and is since discontinued. Very long axle to axle but very quiet and forgiving. Just heavy...

Owned a M7 for almost a year now, love the bow. Only bitch I have is the junk scorpion strings they come with. Change them out asap and save yourself the stretching/tuning problems.
