Wow! That's quite a story, and one that doesn't come readily to mind of the thousands of things that were being done by anyone and everyone in a position to react. I'd have assumed that there would always be at least a few armed and combat-ready aircraft at any given time. Glad they didn't have to ante all-in. The ejection-seat idea sprung to my mind before the article mentioned it, but they'd have to get real close before popping that handle...... A difficult spot to be in for sure.

Nice looking woman too.....
