Default I am getting out of firearms

Yes, I am purchasing my last firearm and I'm not sure how long that I am going to keep it, or if I am ever going to use it. My rational is that what I need to do is to relocate or else acquire some property somewhere that I can use to shoot at, because there are not quality places to shoot. It is only possible to become skillful if I had lots of land, say 60 or 80 acres. Hey, I once saw how to set up a safe rifle range with only about 20 acres. The land has to be positioned in a certain way, but I will not say exactly how.

I would not mind having one single gun because I do live on an acreage and there is a slight bit of isolation here, and there is the odd wild animal. Someone did see a cougar last year but I heard something else climb the roof as well. Some of these people are pretending to be wild animals.

This is the point though. I figure that I should steer out of this hobby unless I have the proper set up because it is expensive. Now I did become proficient in the rifle and not quite yet with the shot gun, but I do know how to achieve that with practice (that I might never get).

So now I have sold 70% of my firearms and equipment. I have a couple guns left and that is it. I'm surprised that nobody bought my rifle, because that is the best gun out of them all. I still have it.

I have half a mind to give it away although I probably wont. The real reason however is exactly what I am telling you. I have almost achieved proficiency and I do not have the land necessary to advance farther. They are really cool looking toys to keep but it also brings violence into the spiritual present, sort of why I wanted my guns to be another color, not black in color. Nevermind though. Now as far as gaining that final proficiency. I'm not sure if it will occur or not. I'd need to shoot about 250 shells. I know what I want to do. I know exactly what I want. Moving to the next level with the semi automatic rifle is way too difficult, but I would love to spend about five years working on that. That opportunity is not available at this time.

So I am out of the hobby. I'm calling it quits. Not I am going to read the Necronomicon, instead.

Have you got enough light under the bridge to read?

Wow that's all that comes to my mind. I hope you find another hobbie that you will enjoy just as much.

So a week ago you posted about your second time shooting, and now you claim to be proficient with a rifle.

It would be that 25 yard target perhaps?

I shot the semi automatic rifle about 140 - 160 rounds. What do you woman bitching about. I tried the small rifle with far less success. I was using the 30-06 with a scope, not the greatest scope but it was fine for shooting standing up to 120 feet. I shot standing, kneeling, sitting, and in the prone position. The best was standing. It was a lot of fun, but it was a semi, so I should have been moving around and shooting, and than moving around some more, advancing, retreating, etc.

The word proficiency gets thrown around too much now-a-days....

Well, you did great then, seeing the 25 yard target is only 75 feet.

For most people it takes a lot more practice to get to that distance. Hair on ya!

I will shoot at 10 feet, if I really wanted to have some fun, but I did mean to say 'yards' rather than 'feet'.

BTW the Necronomicon is much more powerful than any firearm, but I do not know why or how. Combine it with the Bible and it will keep a person busy and fighting.

It would be great to have a higher magnification, but I was on target at 100 yards, standing, and using a sling. That was fun. I would rather that it was 200 yards.

So did you have a bayonet on this rifle when you were advancing and retreating?

I feel much better knowing you are giving up guns.
