Unfortunately, having businesses, professionals, head offices etc. leave the province because of an unfavorable tax environment is usually not a good thing in the long run.

What discussion? Thè o.p. wants to know how much taxes you paid in your life. The purpose is that its going to sound like a big number worth being aggrieved aboutthats the whole relevance of the thread. Has this number ever been used as a yardstick for any comparison i never heard of it. Its gone like the money you pay to your ex and if i added that up i would certainly have something to grieve about

I wasn't responding to the OP's question, I was responding to your comment and assumptions. I even quoted you, and in my second paragraph specifically referred to your arguments. I do not agree with your argument that a comparison of tax paid between individuals is immature, meaningless (both your words) and shouldn't even be countenanced.

Hopefully we will see a big migration of those people out of Alberta and to quote Ralph Klein from BITD "We dont dont need those eastern bums and creeps"

Had some jerk from Ontario yap off at me in traffic last week when HE was in the wrong....my response was....pack your effing bags and go back home.

I would have paid a lot less if I had left Québec sooner
