Default Minions ...

i was trying to explain the actions of Harper's staff to my 7 year old granddaughter and she said "oh, they sound like minions" ...and proceeded to tell me about the movie.
OMG, I thought, not only sounds like his staff, but to those so vociferously tow the Conservative line here on AO. "Dippers", meet your Conservative counterparts ... hereafter known as "Minions"

The description from google:

"Evolving from single-celled yellow organisms at the dawn of time, Minions live to serve, but find themselves working for a continual series of unsuccessful masters, from T. Rex to Napoleon. Without a master to grovel for, the Minions fall into a deep depression."

I hate to disagree, but that is a better description for some of the NDP candidates that ran in the last federal and provincial elections. Some appeared to have no interest in politics, and just signed up for a free ride, so they just do what they are told, with no thinking required. Examples would be Drever who Notley suspended almost immediately, and Brosseau, the Bartender from Quebec that had never even set foot in the riding that she ran in.

I am really enjoying the lack of solid arguements by the Dipstick supporters.

You guys never give solid positive evidence why the NDP is a positive force.

Very weak and lame attempts.

Entertaining nonetheless

And.....once a party is elected into power....we all become minions (servants of a greater power)
Even you 26 !!!!

That's probably because the number of NDP supporters on here is pretty minor compared to the overwhelming majority of anti NDP members who belittle and antagonize the supporters without offering viable alternatives or independent ideas.

Is that all you got???

Alternatives and independant ideas????

Means nothing in the real world of politics.
Stop living in a fantasy scenario as I keep telling you.

So which fantasy party are you supporting?
You never offer the answer.
You just keep saying there is something different.

I hope this wasnt too harsh on ya

That's odd.. I was having a talk with my 10 year old grandson around the fire pit last weekend, he brought up politics (?), and proceeded to tell me all about the NDP, he had next to zero knowledge of the Liberals or Conservatives. I wonder where a 10 year old with Conservative parents would learn all that?????? Any ideas 260?

Darn ... Looks like my post stirred up some minions but my ignore function has them blocked.
No Elk, your examples don't fit ...my granddaughter just confirmed that basically, a minion is one that blindly follows and supports the bad practices of their leader. You know, like the minions that see no ethical dilemma in Harper's staff creating "media lines" designed to mislead the public.

Only 11 years to go and your evil plot to have innocent children be assimilated by the Borg can come to fruition.

Well done
Rachel was counting on you and you did not disappoint.

Who is a hand puppet now?

Ha, the analogy to being assimilated by the Borg is a good one.....

Yikes, it may actually come true. The evidence is walking around.

Wow... you really should look in the mirror. Reread all those anti NDP rants from the last couple of months, and find all the unbiased, fact based arguments. Hint... you'll need a fine toothed comb.

Look in the mirror for what ????

You got the fine toothed comb part right though.

Needle in a haystack is closer to the truth.

In other words.......the pro NDP arguement is near non existent when compared to anti NDP

Your problem is that that's your idea of a strong fact based argument.
Ie: Im rubber your glue, everything bounces off me and sticks to you. I think I remember that from grade 4.

Short version is "invest in Albertans education, health care, and infrastructure".

They've already taken steps to do so by cancelling cuts to education and health care, as well as cancelling the PC's increase in income tax (ie. the "health care levey" that was destined for general revenue), and moving towards having business contribute more to society.

And while that is "all I got", it really is all one needs from a government, isn't it?

Is it ???
And where is this money coming from ?????
Could it be a loan of $6 billion dollars????
Could it be from increasing oil business taxes while cutting back on oil production and export lines????
Or could it be from a carbon tax ????

You need to inform yourself by looking into the NDP's track record in Canada.

But obviously no one did !!!!!!
They'll give you a little while taking ALOT more without you even seeing it.

I don't have inside info on their budgeting process, sorry.

I do expect performance from them.

Don't know what "loan of $6billion" you're referring to, unless it's the borrowing cap (like a line of credit).

Some of it will come from business taxes, sure. If you have a problem with business contributing to the society who'se resources they benefit from, that's too bad.

What do you mean "cutting back oil production and export lines"?

Don't know what the plan is with regard to carbon "tax", bud. They just announced the committee the other day.

Alberta NDP is more closely aligned with the Lougheed Conservatives. Read up on it for yourself. I liked the Lougheed Conservatives. Too bad Getty, et al, threw it all away.

They're not going to be giving me anything, Luxor.
