Best Wings in Edmonton, St Albert - Price not an issue
I have read through a number of previous threads about best wings in Alberta, Calgary etc but since I don't plan on travelling great distances just to find great wings I thought I would restrict this to St Albert and Edmonton. I also don't care if the wings are cheap, though that is good, what matters most is quality. Would also be great if they are Gluten friendly so my wife can eat them.
So far research has shown strong recommendations;
1- Original Joes in St Albert (Gluetin friendly)
2 - Canada Brew House on 97 St 127 Ave (Gluetin free on many Appys. including wings)
3 - Wild Wings on 97 St 167 Ave (LOTS of Gluten free choices)
4- Crown and Anchor Pub St Albert
5 - Browns Social House Manning Freeway and 158 Ave (Wings are Gluten free)
I have tried all five and while the wings are okay, I would not call them GREAT. I have rated them in terms of best to worst from what we tried.
They certainly aren't in the league of Buffalo Hot Wings in the States. Looking for the best of the best!

Wings
The rec room has the best wings I've ever had. Can't remember the name of the flavour. There was chunks of bacon stuck to them and everything. Incredible wings.

1st Round in West Edmonton Mall gets my vote. Tons of flavors, and good sized wings.

Thats Crown & Tower, Crown And Anchor is in Castledowns. Both have excellent wings. Best I've had were Tex Mex at the Shu (Horseshu Pub) by Londonderry mall. They are cheap on Tuesday too. I haven't missed wing night at the Shu in a long, long time

Montana's has a half price wing night. Forget which night, but their wings are good sized and done well.

I like my wings with nothing but salt and pepper but these wing with chunks of bacon sound very interesting to me.
I deep fry my own wings at home coated in salt, pepper, paprika, bread crumbs and flour. Next time I'm gonna have to try them with bits of bacon added.
Thanks for the idea!

Took your advice and tried the Crown and Anchor in Castledowns last night. Great selection of Gluten free options, including the Wings, and take catering to Allergies VERY seriously. Very good service, friendly and helpful.
The wings were excellent. 49 cents a wing with any beverage, about 10 wings to a pound, cooked perfect and properly sauced. My wife had the Salt and Lemon Pepper wings, she said they were the best wings she has had in a very long time. I had the regular hot. The hot wings were lightly sauced but with some extra sauce in the basket so you can add more. The onion rings were a large basket for 6 buckets and the half order of Cactus chips for 5 bucks were great too. There was more food than we could eat, and with two beer the whole bill came to $43.
Going to keep checking out places but so far I really like the food at Crown and Anchor and it had a great pub vibe.

I love close by and it’s a solid greasy spoon/ sports pub...
I have to say, I really like Brewster’s wings (right across the street)
Tuesday is their wing night, try the dry Cajun... so good... wings are a little on the smaller side but usually nice and crispy

I love further away, but it is worth the drive. Will try Brewsters next time.
Also tried the Original Joes on 127 st. It SUCKED. Lousy service, high prices and poor food. Amazing how different two restuarants of the same brand can be.
My re-ordered list of favourite wings places
1- Crown and Anchor Castledowns ( lots of Gluten free options)
2 - Canada Brew House on 97 St 127 Ave (Gluetin free on many Appys. including wings) This place can get a little rough on Sat and Frid nights.
3- Crown and Tower Pub St Albert
4 - Wild Wings on 97 St 167 Ave (LOTS of Gluten free choices)
5 - Browns Social House Manning Freeway and 158 Ave (Wings are Gluten free)

I've given up on Canadian Brewhouse and Original Joe's wings. Seemed decent up until a few years ago and then took a nosedive, very much hit or miss. Some nights decent, others not so much.
For consistently good wings and a decent deal either wing night, during happy hour, or during Oilers games we usually head to Hudsons. If money isn't a factor then Joeys has very, very good wings.
