Probably half of my lynx sets are in crates, as long as I don't run out of them. I have as many catches there as with cubbies. Other factors of course are involved and maybe where I set in crates there is more sign...???

I'm a scrounger, like most trappers..haha
I have also found them at bottle recycling depots, where they have been left by customers and in most cases the proprietors will give them away.
Ask and you may receive..

Only trapped 2 bobs Peter , one was in a snare on a trail .. other was a leghold set under a pheasant wing swinging in the breeze . Good luck , they could bring a good paycheck .

Good luck! You've got me dreaming about a trapping road trip one day. It's probably one of those things that will never happen but it'd be fun to spend a bunch of time specifically targeting cats. Is there a good population of bobcat in southern Alberta or is it more spotty? I've never heard of anyone catching big numbers of bobcat in Alberta. Lynx is on my bucket list as well but bobcat wouldn't require having a Rfma. There is no bobcat season in my area.

Question, a fella when I was in Saskatchewan would mix catnip and Vaseline together smear it on tree limbs etc around a leg trap as an attractant with a partridge wing dangling above. Does anyone use this type of set up?

To the OP what do you put I the milk crate?

if you look in top right corner of second pic there is a snow goose wing hanging and I had cat lure on it,there is chunk of beaver meat in the back

Don't go out of your way Peter. I was just trying to get an idea of how much of that blocking was natural and if you disguised the squareness of the front of the milk crate at all.
