Great vid, thanks for sharing. My nephew plays for Edson and I am an All Blacks supporter. Going to see them play live some day is on my bucket list.
Regards,
Dave.

PS. You must have seen the vids of the All Blacks doing their pre-game Haka right!? I find that incredible.

Definitely a great team to see at least once. I have seen them live on tour once when I was growing up in Ireland. Don't be late for the game, you do not want to miss the Haka !!

Pool A:
Canada, France, Japan, Tonga and (gulp) the All Blacks. Even though NZ got stuffed in the Tri-Nations on the weekend it's doesn't look like smooth sailing for the boys in red to go through.

I leave for NZ on Saturday. I have tickets to the Wellington games. I have my RV booked. I will be back in October.

Look for the fat guy in the Canadian Flag spandex bodysuit, and stupid Canada Flag hat, in the stands. I'll be waving at YOU.

2011 Match Schedule
8.30pm, Sunday 11 September South Africa vs Wales
6.00pm, Saturday 17 September South Africa vs Fiji
8.30pm, Friday 23 September Australia vs USA
8.30pm, Sunday 25 September Argentina vs Scotland
6.00pm, Saturday 1 October France vs Tonga
3.30pm, Sunday 2 October New Zealand vs Canada

Smile Did Ireland play the ball on the ground?

Great video, the All Blacks played Canada in a friendly in Calgary a few years ago, the Haika and the game was great. If there is enough fan support, they will probably tour again.

Now with women playing and playing well you double the potential fan support.

Great video! Scrums were always my favorite part though (prop)
I was lucky enough to go to the Churchill Cup Youth Camp when it come here to Edmonton, we even got to go out onto the field and stand on either side where the NZ & Canadian womens team run onto the field, so exciting!!
I miss rugby

Smile No need to miss it.

People play rugby as long as they want. You can too. It is great fun to play and the friends are even better. It was by far the best part of my university experience.

In fact nothing else came close!

I'd still be playing now if I hadn't of dislocated my ribbies, makes it kind of difficult for a prop in a scrum. To bad too, I had been invited to practice with the Canadian womens team, unfortunately the stupid ref called a scrum too quickly and some fat cow fell on me The coach was a dink too, talked on his bloody cell phone throughout our games. So I took up hunting. Doesn't drain energy like rugby but just as enjoyable

Wow a female prop! My kind of girl. As you may know the 4 most important players on a rugby team are the 2 props and the 2 people who replace them!

Get a better coach, better refs wouldn't hurt either!

Don't call your opponents a "fat cow" play a game of movement and help them get in shape.

Keep playing as long as you are having fun. How are male props going to get dates if girls like you quit?

IMO the locks and the hook are the most important forwards. the hook will snag the ball, make good dissions for a maul or a handoff off the line outs.
and the locks provide the power for the scrum. yet the props are there to stablize.

I must agree whole heartedly, props make the team. I don't think the coach lasted too long, he was one of those kind that coached a boys under 18 championship team but had never coached girls, just a slight difference. . .

I reserve the right to call the opposing loose prop a fat cow because she was 5'2 squared. . .

lol! I traded in my cleats & knee high socks for a set of hunting boots at a .270 parker hale. I don't think male props will have an issue, they can continue to clunk the poor flanks on the noodle with their clubs and drag them back to their caves lol! j/k the guys team was scared of us anyways

As for the comment "yet the props are there to stablize," our front row could move the scrum machine with 2 of the 3, 45 gal drums full of water no problem, seconds had a hell of a time keeping up in the scrum

you must have had some very strong props.our coach put the (broader) shouldered kids as the props and they stalblized me when im balancing on one leg kicking the huntings hook it the face. we got a big twins we put as locks and we awsome.

just out of curiosity what did everyone play for positions?

I have a 68 year old friend that lives near Dunedin and she is the quintessential NZ tea granny. Really nice person and I have known her for many years. When the All Blacks lost to FRANCE (Oh the shame...the shame) I made the mistake of teasing her a bit about it. WRONG THING TO DO!
She told me that in all likelyhood the coach would be dismissed and the Captain would be asked to step down. I was taken a back to say the least. I never had the courage to ask her what eventually happened. Does anybody here know?
Regards,
Dave.

I played rugby for the U of A many moons ago. My son played lock for Provincial High School champions and for the U of A as a freshman. Screwed up his knee playing volleyball, for goodness sake, and just had ACL surgery in June so I think his rugby days are over. Too bad as he's now got the weight and muscle to really excel at the postion. Plus I enjoyed watching him.

I've got a Kiwi cousin who played All Blacks. Showed me his "cap" (yup, they really do get one) when I was over last November.
He's most famous for NOT playing when he got selected to the National squad while playing for Otago University.
Chose to boycott rather to go on an embargo-bustin' trip to South Africa in the old apartheid days. Even though the All Blacks always have a pretty dominant Maori factor.
Ironically New Zealand Maori was banned from playing in SA until quite recently because it was selected on racial grounds, which is not exactly what apartheid was all about.
My unspectacular career (hooker, scrum half, loosie) plateaued at the Extra-B level.
Although there is a beer mug in the curio cabinet that says we won the Alberta Rugby Union Third Division back in 1977. Totally out of character.

Hi all,

Does anyone know where to watch games in EDM? I battled to find places in 2007.

I reckon the AB's have immense pressure to improve on their dissmal 2007 performance, as do the Wallabies.

Of course I'll be rooting for my BOKKE but if not the boks then I will be shouting for the default - AB's of course! I tend to root for Argentina and Canada too, as underdog teams (Arg real came out hard in 07).

All the RWC games are on TSN, TSN2 and TSN.ca this year!! Most are on pretty late but we have it this year and 2015!!

Here is the schedule...
http://www.tsn.ca/rugby/feature/?id=47571

I lived in NZ around Nelson for a year and they had extra tickets for a Tri-Nations game in Christchurch. It was amazing to say the least. I watched every game that year and watched the Crusaders during the Super 12 at the time.

Go ALL BLACKS!!
