Default And the Mad butcher burnt down.

That is the news for today, The Mad butcher in Innisfail cought fire, no idea what has all been burned, from what I could see the store part was still standing, of course the streets were all blocked off. As long as they saved the jerky and the dutch licorice.

The jerky was likely the first to go.....fire most likely started in the smokehouse!

Yeah, I saw that on Twitter.

Mad Butcher = BEST butcher shop in Alberta. Whenever I am in the area, one has to go an buy stuff. One of the few truly old time butcher shops, and man, do they make great smoked product.

That sucks. I loved the Koobie-dogs from there. For anyone who hasnt had them, they're basically a normal size hotdog weiner but made from garlic sausage.

Mad Butcher is a great shop. I hope they rebuild. Always good steaks from there, great cold cuts. Bought a corned beef in brine from them recently...slow cook'erd it....awsome....some sauages I can't pronounce or had ever heard of before....huge variety and a quality place.
sorry to hear about the fire.

Here's hoping they re-build and Soon. Only source around here for European style sausage, meats and deli items . Smoked pork loin chops and kale. To kill for.

I was driving by Innisfail yesterday at around 1:30 and saw a huge plume of smoke. Would that have been it?

Didn't look like much would have been left standing.

Shame.
