Default Marcum LX-7 Open Water

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has any experience using their LX-7 or LX-9 in their boat? I saw you can buy an open water transducer for them so I assume it should work allright? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

I had one years ago. It worked ok but I'm a mapping junkie so it didn't work out for me, plus now with all the Downscan and Sidescan technology they're sub par for what's available out there, plus the new Live sonar technology that is available.

Thanks Willowtrail. As far as showing depth and marking fish would you say it worked decent?

I used mine for years out of my kayak . I put the transducer cord inside a pool noodle and zip tied it in and sat it in a milk crate . Worked great , thought about buying the open water transducer but it was pricey , about as much as a decent fish finder .

I tried mine in my boat , very hard to see anything in the screen because of the sun light . .Out side the ice fishing tent it was hard to see also. unless it was set to black and white .
