Default Camping Castle Provincial Park WMU 400/402

Can anyone point me in the direction where you can camp down in the Castle Provincial Park or Wilderness Area. I am looking for a spot I can haul my trailer down to and base out of for a week in the last half of October. As of October 15 all the camp grounds are closed and there is no random camping allowed. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Stay out of 400 then. 402 is wide open for your trailer.

Sounds like the folks at the ski hill are are the only people that can can use this area year round now? Do they have the man power to enforce it.

Random camping is open all year long in designated area's. Some of those area's are behind gates closed mid December others inaccessible by snow depths later in the year. Only the campgrounds themselves are closed Oct 15.

https://www.albertaparks.ca/media/64...r-brochure.pdf It says that winter camping is permitted in ares 3-9 in Castle Provincial Park. Not sure if those are noted on this map, you may have to reference the summer map. Also, you don't need a discharge permit if you're hunting in the Wildland area of the Provincial Park.

Have a permit anyways. I know 2 fellows that were raked over the coals 2 yrs ago by Alberta Parks for their discharge permit. These guys tried to correct the parks guys but they were having none of it. So to save some grief they showed them the permit

Some of the Castle Wildland Area you may need a firearms discharge permit, at least in 2018.
