Just got the call from a friend who lives in the area, Fawcett lake is ice free. Happened some time last night.

How is everyone making out at Fawcett? Went there yesterday and the water level is way up, and the clarity is quite poor... No walleye tags filled, so an excellent reason to keep going back :-)

Nice weather fishing not so good around 25 pikes all small to medium size in 3 days fishing . Lots of fish cops which is very good. This lake had been abused for way too long... water needs to turn over . Eyes still chilling in the east basin...

I was there as well, on the east side and didn't see any fish cops. Were they all on the west side? I thought for sure I'd see them on the way home Monday as they often have stops on the road, but not yesterday.

Water was the highest I've ever seen it and was very murky and fishing was slow. Lots of debris too, avoided everything big but something I didn't see took out my fishfinder transducer...the repairs never end!
