Open water at Swan Lake North

Hi there.

Just wondering if anyone knows if there is any open water at Swan Lake by Valleyview. If so, enough to launch a boat or cast from shore?

Any info is appreciated.

SNAP, is the season open because its stocked?

Tommorrow will be a darn nice day for a drive, I will head
out there for the first time and let ya know.

My understanding is that it is. The regulations state:

A. For Trout-Stocked Lakes, Reservoirs and Ponds in ES4 that are named under “Alberta’s Fish Stocking Program.”
Open all year – Trout limit 5; bait allowed.

Yeah Im gonna head out there regardless if its open or not.
Might even do it right now but....

Heres what I dont understand about the Regs...

It says.

Please refer to Albertas Fish Stocking Program on page 8 for stocked lakes that are open year round.

So flip to page 8 and its not on the list.

So flip back to the section for special conditions, no mention of Swan lake.

If you guys cant answer me ill phone someone but its just a tad confusing if you ask me.

Just got back.

Despite there only being maybe 1/2 of the ice off, theres still about 15 guys there fishing.....silly if you ask me. Should maybe be a week, the rain will help if we get some.

Deer everywhere, never seen so many.

Swan is listed as a stocked lake in the yearly SRD stocking report. Actuallly, I also checked page 8 and there it is 3rd from the bottom under ES4. Definately open all year.
