I shot a deer twice in 2 or 3 or something days three years ago and it would not die. I finally found him expired and being munched on by a coyote the day after I shot him the second time; he was still warm. I was able to pack out only about half the meat. I almost reconsidered hunting because of the incident. To this day, I have no idea how he lived for so long. Someone here suggested meth.

Agreed. I think a cat attack would show damaged to the throat area as well as more miscellaneous damaged. This deer looks like he got the top part of his body sheared off at a fast speed.

Looks to me like someone thought he was dead and started to take his back straps out and the deer come to and bolted outta there. That is one serious injury that’s one tough animal right there.

Quite the clean cut - I imagine that somewhere, someone has a chunk of hide on the leading edge of their skid plate...

Am I the only one that thinks it’s fake? At the very least I think it would be walking with poor posture if it was missing all that meat.

I’m with ya on that, no blood on his lower fur and nice bright red meat in the wound.
I guess animals don’t pass out from pain? Atleast not white tails right??? Lol
I call fake BS

I wouldn't say that he is missing meat, per se - basically skinned. That would explain why there isn't much blood. There would be some tissue shrinkage for sure, as you would expect for exposed flesh (it has lost moisture). Just my opinion.
