Default Eskimo tents

My buddy got a brand new eskimo 6 man popup tent, pretty nice.

first time we set it up, one of the insides of a hub came off, and had to be bolted back on with forceps. Then not one but BOTH zippers on the carrying case snapped off, right in the middle of the metal handle....

I thought eskimo tents were supposed to be good quality?

For the most part I believe they are good. I know of people having the odd problems but it happens with all tents. I also have personally had a good experience with Eskimo's warranty system so if something failed that shouldn't have contact them, they will probably make it right. Good luck with that if you buy one of these other brands.

I have a Quickfish 6i and had a rod snap last year. Cabelas exchanged it for a new one with the receipt.

I do find the bag to be a bit on the tight side, especially when it's cold and stiff.

I have the 6 man non insulated, so far so good for 2 years. One concern I had was the black coating flaked off the inside pretty bad at first. Seems to have stopped now.

I have the 949I FATFISH, love the tent. This is the insulated one. I've fished in -25 with just a hoodie. They could make the bags a bit larger though.

Default Eskimo 9416

I finally pulled the pin on an Eskimo 9416 the first one had a melt hole in the roof, the second was so delimitated it may as well have been clear, the third had a broken hub ...... If you can believe it I got a fourth..... ( now these were all very easy exchanges for me as I went back to the store I bought it at....) I got the last one......its been good... no issues!!

I have a 949i. Outstanding tent. Easy up, easy down. Warm and dark inside. May sell as want to get the 6120i for a bit more room.

I think when they put these on sale really cheap the stores put the returns back on the shelf.
I have a 3 man insulated, no issues after 3 years. I agree the bag could be a bit bigger but it's not as bad as 99% of the "carrying cases", now a days where it's virtually impossible to get it back in. Camping tents especially.
