Default Casting deck

I’m thinking about building a casting deck for my 14.5’ Lund. I’d like to see some of your projects and I’m open to suggestions, thanks.

I have a 14.5’ Alumacraft. The casting deck is a catch 22 scenario. If I was fishing by myself all the time I would love it to be a little larger. As it is now it is a bit small but leaves room on the floor for fishing when someone is with me.

I have used the casting deck several times and find it a bit wobbly for the size of the boat.

Just a couple of personal comments. Good luck and post a pic of the finished result.

Dodger.

Here's casting deck on my 14' Harbourcraft. It is simply marine ply, covering the front bench seat and extending right to the bow. There's a kayak hatch installed to access the 'bilge'. On a v-hull, a high casting deck can be wobbly for us seniors who are no longer too steady, but an H-bar or other device to lean against can solve that problem.

When there's two in the boat, a portable swivel chair is used by the passenger, and the casting deck is used for all of their junk!

I got the carpet for it at lowes of all places. It's not marine grade by any stretch but so far it's holding up well.

I believe it was this one

My 14' Lund DLX has two bench seats, front and rear, It has a flat floor between the seats making a nice walking area, The lower floor keeps your center of gravity down, handy in the windy south here.
