Default Buttle Lake on Vancouver Island

Has anybody on the forum been to Buttle Lake on Vancouver Island? I will be camping there for a week this month and fishing the whole time. I read that it has rainbows, cutties and dollies.

I am not sure which campsite. We will be mostly fishing from a boat but I am sure when my family gets bored of sitting in a boat I will take off and fish from shore and I might even go kayak fishing.

Ok cool. In a boat i know a lot of people favor slow troling a willow leaf with either powerbait or worm on a small leader behind it (double check regs on bait use i cant remember) ii also know in the lakes in the surounding areas slow troling a muddler minnow fly on the edges of underwater shoals and weedbeds can be productive. On your way there stop by river sportsman and ask what else to use. They are super freindly and vknow a lot about fishing in the area. I would also look into the campbell and quinsam rivers as there may be a few early pink salmon to be had.

From shore my go to is to try a few spinners (gold #4 blue fox is my go to) and if bait use is alowed using a slip weight and a worm blower to float a worm a foot off the botom for trout cruising along the shorelines.
