.375 Remington Ultra Mag 300gr Hornady DGX solids with 105gr of Retumbo. Basically takes the dog and sledgehammers em back about 10ft. Funny as hell too bad it hurts me almost as bad as the dogs in all day hunts LOL.

For calling I use a Rem.700 .223 vls, Benchmark powder pushing 40gr V-max. For the windy days I use a Rem.700 7-08 cdl, R-15 pushing 140gr Sierra pro hunters.

ok so i know this question is gonna raise a lot of room for debate, but shooting a .223 but don't know the begining about ballistics and am pretty new to hunting really. Hollow points i would have thought aren't good for fur cause there'd be a big exit, is this a false statement. Is there less chance for an exit. Now I ussually buy cheap bullets and concentrate on placement. But any general rules i should go by when picking bullets? Any info would be great

Default coyote gun

Well seeing as how I shot a coyote with my .243 today, I guess that it is now my official "coyote gun". 55 grain ballistic silver tip factory load,200 yards and a nice, neat little hole. Dumped em.

Savage 110 tactical in 223 rem pushing 50 gr Ballistic tips into sub moa groups with a charge of 748.

It seems to work on the killing part too. just a little heavy to pack when you feel like walking around a bit, but great when you plunk down and get them to walk to you. Oh yeah, the glass is a bit oversized, its an 8-40x56 "high end" tasco. I hate trashcos, but this one has treated me well, so i wont whine.

I also get my ruger 77 Mk II stainless out after dogs. I have 50 rds of 65 gr V-max loaded up for the winter, and i hope on making many of them count.

I've got a couple boxes of the same for the .270win. I'm not going to buy a new gun for the couple coyotes I might get, so this will have to do. Hate skinning anyway. LOL

Question about skinning them and using the fur.... regs say
"It is unlawful, with the following exceptions, to allow the pelt of any furbearing animal to be wasted:
It is not legally necessary to salvage pelts of 1) furbearing animals taken in accordance with regulations authorizing control of problem wildlife, or 2) coyotes harvested, by residents, outside of public lands in the Green Area."

By "resident" do they mean a person residing on the land in question, or do they mean a resident of Alberta? I'm assuming it's the latter, otherwise the "residents outside of public lands in the Green area" makes no sense as I'm not sure there are residents of public lands in the Green Area.

So long question short, do I have to take the fur of yotes killed on private land (or lease land outside of green area)?

One more point of confusion... in the Agricultural Pests Act regulations it says you need a "Form 7" to shoot coyotes.... odd.

The 2009 hunting regulations define "Resident" on page 15.

By "resident" they mean Canadian citizen residing in Alberta (or someone who has lived in Alberta for the last 12 months) or certain Armed Forces personnel.
