No boil at all man. I'll take your word regarding bullet availability. As I don't reload it doesn't mean anything to me. I like the greater .270 off the shelf ammo availability, and that is what swayed me (the "I can get ammo almost anywhere!" argument). In retrospect, it really wasn't a big factor in the end as I don't buy cheapo ammo from Canadian Tire or Walmart anyway. I looked long and hard at the .280 too, almost bought one. Not that much to choose between them I'm thinking.... now my old .303, different matter

I split the difference and went 7-08AI.....and havent looked back since!

Seems like splitting hairs.... .270, .280, 7-08.... only the guys with ballistics charts can tell any difference, the game can't IMHO.... very humble LOL
