Stripped Tikka T3 action screws
Hey guys,
I stripped the head on my rear tikka T3 action screw. Does any one know where I can find a new set of action screws for it? I was able to get the screw out, there was just enough on them to get it to break the tension but I'm not gonna put them back in till I get some new ones. Any info would be great!
Thanks,
Kevin

Maybe Western Gun Parts? Oops I see that you're in Calgary and they're in Edmonton.

In a pinch I would take the screws to a nut-and-bolt shop. Unlikely that they would have a match with a counter sunk head, but a socket head would probably center in the counter sink.

Western will ship to Calgary!
I'd also try Brownells.

Thanks for the responses guys, I guess I'll be calling stoeger on Tuesday. I'm in no rush, just want the right ones. If that don't pan out I'll try one of the other options.

I purchased the Lumley stainless kit from coretac that had the steel lug and pillars with the screws. The screws that came I believe had a flat based head. It you look at your tikka bottom plastic you will notice that it would accept a tapered head better. I also bough the bottom metal that is flat so I had no issue other than the bolts that came with were too short. Something to consider.

After reading some of the other forums, and threads, noticed other people having the same issue, I decided to purchase the stainless ones form coretac. I think in the long run this will be a better idea. I couldn't come to myself to have them shipped alone, so they are coming with the bottom metal and Stainless bolt shroud, I feel better the screws are not traveling by themselves!

I bought the bottom metal that still allows me the use of my tikka mag. I think it's a good product and provides a good surface for bedding against the stock as the tikka plastic is not flat on the stock side. When I received the items and discovered the screw length issue I got a hold of them and sent me longer screws for free. I believe this is a common issue and perhaps the screws they provide are longer now. It's worth a call or email.

I stripped out one of the bolts on my Tikka last night. Don’t know how as I was being pretty careful, the bolt just seems to be very brittle.
So now I should get a left hand ez out?

Fastenal can likely get you higher quality screws faster, and for less money.
