How long till ice off in the mountains you figure?

i went to wedge pond yesterday and the further i ventured in to the mountains the more ice there was, barrier had spots open and mt.lorette ponds the ice was totally gone but wedge was fully iced over, ended up fishing the bow and the k river. Would like to hit wedge pond soon, it doesn't seem very deep though would this pond winter kill?
