Default Port Hardy Salmon Fishing - UNREAL

It's only June 25th and fishing has been amazing ever since June 15th, like off the hook great for Chinook salmon. Even some smaller Coho are showing up now in good numbers and they don't usually show up for a few weeks. Talking to others it seems that the fish aren't early this year, they are just here in larger numbers. This is the best June fishing I have ever seen in my life out here, and it will only keep getting better and the fish getting bigger. 4 days ago caught a beautiful 46lb Chinook, largest of the season taken out of Port Hardy and largest I've heard of on Vancouver Island so far, June always seems to be good to me for big fish

Yesterday we were into over 20 Chinook, today was even better being into over 30 Chinook and quite a few Coho, it was literally non stop action, double headers and for a large portion of the day couldn't even get two rods down. Tomorrow we are going after big halibut, will let you know how we do...Im' sure there will be quite a few hogs coming over the side of the boat if the weather can hold off and stay calm enough to throw anchor tomorrow! Here are some pictures from the past few days!

46lbs, rod broke when hooked it and the woman fought it with just the reel...wow, story for the ages!

One around 28-30lbs caught minutes later

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOBODY GO FISHING WITH THIS GUY.

Yes...you may get a freezer full of fish

Yes...you may get a ton of memorable photos.

But at what price?

Think of the muscle fatigue.

Think of the potential sunburns and maybe even line burn or knuckle busters.

I believe you are better off waiting for about 4 years and then go salmon fishing. That way you will miss the best fishing and the biggest run of salmon to hit the west coast in many, many years.

Thank God for cold water! Viva la Chinook!

I know "dang it" I'm going to be forced into it again in about 5 weeks, I'm really dreading the thought of having to reel in all those fish....hahahaa!!!

Have brad fenson up with us right now to do an article, and rough rough rough weather today but still got 10 Chinook between 2 boats and few Coho with A LOT of Chinook lost (some newbies on my boat). Considering how darn rough it is right now thats pretty darn good I think...supposed to stay rough tomorrow which sucks big time but Sunday she'll calm right down apparently

Brad left with limit of Chinook (smallest being 22lbs, largest 37lbs) and halibut (45lbs), and would the weather of been better easily limit of Lingcod and Red Snapper too.

Limited out today on salmon again, so many Coho around now too its nuts, biggest salmon was 34lbs, with 3 over 30lbs. Limit of halibut again as well, two largest were 50 and 45lbs. Fishing is hot, limit of salmon being reached by 1030am and easily could of been sooner should the hook/catch rate gone up a bit.

Well...THIS is why you come to PORT HARDY for amazing salmon fishing, once again caught hog salmon today. Into over 40 salmon once again, lost two well over 40lbs right at boat, but boated a monster!!! 3 of their 4 Chinook were over 30lbs, limit of Coho as well. Released over 20 fish as well. Here are pictures...let's get some guesses on size of the big one, first one to get it right gets Serengeti Fishing Charters hat (currently being made, super nice)
