Default Hon Solo

Checked my trail cam today and got a picture of a deer for the forth year in a row. My cousin layed eyes on him half way through november and never pulled the trigger because of his problem, he only has 1 antler and it has been that way from day one.... I dont know if he was injured as a young deer or what the reasoning is, but the antler he does have is very unique and seems to be going down hill. My cousin named him Hon Solo after seeing him on that cold november day. I have never seen him and only have one picture of him in the day light. He lives in big bush country and I put him at 6.5 years old at least.

Heres some pics of Hon Solo

2009 was the first time I had Hon solo on cam

2010 I got him in the day light but he was seriously missing some points including his brows, G2 and main beam.

2011 I caught him on several mock scrapes in the same area.

2012 and he sure has a cool antler. Hes no monster but still neat to look at

How old could this deer be?? He already had a decent antler in 2009

Its really neat to watch their antlers grow year over year like that. Not sure why he would always carry 1 though. Either way hes a cool looking deer.

We have one around here that my son in law named Elliot. We have tracked him about 3 years now. This past year we saw a small spiker with one antler so I have begun to tease my other son in law that the "one antler" is a genetic defect and Elliot is creating a whole new sub-species of Whitetail. Soon the record books are going to have to create a new sub category of "one antlered whitetail" so we can score them.

He gets all upset and says the next time he sees Elliot he is going to shoot it.LOL
Regards,
Dave.

I would Personally take him out of the gene pool before more deer start popping up with one antler if he keeps growing like that every year..

My 2 cents
