Question Hillers Res. off #2.

Anyone fish Hillers this winter? I was out Sunday, the east end stunk like sulphur and visibilty was zero. I snowshoed to the west side where the spring comes in -was flowing - but had zero luck. I have always seen tons of minnows at the spring but none this year. Winterkill or fished clean last summer?

Yeah, I don't think I would bother Orv. I had the kids out in the summer and got dinner but I dont think they overwintered very well. There was only signs of a couple holes out there - not much activity. Used to get 1-2 lbs which told me they made it through the winter but maybe the fertilizer did them in this year. Thanks for the info, cheers.

It used to be quite good. I was out last August, many trouts had red sores and boils on their bodies. Probably not going back for a little while. It should be deep enough though for overwinter without taking heavy winter-kill loses. So it might have been fished out.
