The tree branch is pointed strait up out the hole you can see it for miles around its preaty noticeable.

I'll be watching for your stick, ha ha ha but was wondering if you'd share a bit of info on what sort of habitat the perch are using in there? Depth? is it mud bottom or close to a shoal? I fished that lake hard last winter, did great for burbs and pike, managed a few jumbo whites the last trip out, but only managed one perch when i gutted a large burbot. I had the camera down for many many hours but only saw burbs. Are the perch out in the middle or where would a person start searching? The fish and wildlife officer didn't believe me when i said i couldn't find the perch as everyone else had at least a few. Maybe just bad luck but any tips appreciated, i'm hoping to try out my new icecube at Gull and Cow this weekend.

I had no camera so I have no idea what the bottom looked like, the depth Id say around 20ft I think I found a hole or somthing it takes a while for my jig to hit bottom. The only luck I had was with perch my hot spots for pike and burbs is much closer to shore.

Even though the post is over 2 yrs old, I still managed to find the branches sticking out of the ice and managed to catch many, many fish. Happily all were released.
Thanks for the info!
